I’m having a hard time finding good Arkansas crappie fishing reports. Where can I get them?
Sometimes, no matter where you are at, the best source of information will be found at the local bait shops. These guys will know what is working best for the areas that they support. Most of these people will gladly help you out and give tips that work for the area you will be fishing. I have even garnered good information from gas station attendants near where I’m fishing. Another tip for finding information is to keep track of the last spot you can buy beer, if it is allowed on the lake, the casual fisher will brag when they are restocking their coolers.
After you have tapped the bait shops turn to the experts. Local guides have tons of information on how to fish specific lakes. Do not plan to hire a guide every time you go out fishing for crappie but I recommend doing it at least once. They won’t give you every secret but they will teach you a thing or two about crappie and where to find them. If you are really looking to get some good information from them hire a guide in the off seasons. Anybody can catch crappie in the spring when they are spawning but it takes a real expert to catch them in the summer months and catch them consistently.
Also another good source of crappie fishing information in Arkansas is http://www.kansasangler.com/arreport.html. This sight has information about the water levels of various locations and you will find reports submitted by people that are out there fishing.
