Can you give me some advice for crappie fishing on Granger Lake?
Crappie fishing on Granger Lake is excellent. With all the lay downs, stumps and flooded willows, you will have many areas to fish. The turbid waters are generally shallow. You can head to the ridges, humps and old creek channels. You can also get up by San Gabriel River for some great fishing. In the main lake, you can head to the brush piles that are man made. This is a crappie swimming pool. You can easily catch your limit in hours. Granger Lake is noted for its nice sized crappies. Although crappie fishing is the best in the spring, the fall is just as great for crappie fishing. In February, the fish move to the shallows and you can catch them left and right. When they are spawning, it is easy to see them in a foot of water. The best place to look is by the lay downs and flooded trees. Summer fishing is done on the main lake drop offs, humps and brush. All you have to use is a tube jig about a 1/8 ounce will do nicely. Your best bet would be to use a minnow. If you find yourself full of crappie, you can also fish the catfish on the lake. They have an abundance of catfish. There are also white bass in the lake and they are very active during the summer and fall. You are going to enjoy fishing for crappie on Granger Lake. It is a beautiful area with plenty of fish for everyone.
