Can you guide me through using minnow traps?
The minnow trap that is set correctly will catch enough minnows for any fish outing. The most common trap has a meshing or net at the opening so the minnows can get in, but they cannot get out. Place some bait in the traps. Usually breadcrumbs work the best. The box should be placed in about a foot or so of water. You can add a buoy to the trap if you are going to leave the minnow trap sit from day to day. The best thing to do is set the minnow trap in the morning or whenever you go fishing and when you come in for the day, you should have your minnows for the next day. Transfer the minnows to a five-gallon bucket and they will keep until the next day. The trap is already to go. All you have to do is place it in the water with the bait and leave it alone. This is the easiest way to use the trap. If you are in a rush for some minnows, you can use a net to scoop up some minnows. Minnows are stupid compared to other fish and are the easiest to catch because there are so many in large schools. One scoop of the net and you could have ten to twenty minnows. Use the trap in waters with little current. If you need to use the trap in deep waters, you will have to attach a rope to keep the trap just under the water top.
