Do you have a list of quality crappie fishing books I can read?

If you are starting to catch these little morsels start with a book called The Crappie Book: Basics and Beyond written by Keith Sutton.  This book is filled with information that every fisher should know such as when the fish start to mate, eat and sleep.  The author is a renowned catfish guy but like all smart catfishers there is a time when the cats are not biting and the crappie are.  This book should help you find those times and even give you some insight to fishing for crappie through the rest of the year.

Next up, and maybe it should be first but check out a book titled Crappie Wisdom: An In-Fisherman Handbook of Strategies published by In-Fisherman.  This book will help you catch them, clean them and eat them.  This book has lots of pictures of crappie and just as many contributors.  Much of the written content can also be found in another book published by the same company called Slab Secrets so be careful to not purchase both books without reviewing the content.

Next up check out Catching Panfish: Tactics for Sunfish, Crappies, Yellow Perch and White Bass by Shawn Perich.  While this book is a little bit broader than just crappie the tactics are valid and work for crappie.  It is also one of the most recently published books regarding pan fish or crappie.  It covers many aspects of fishing like choosing a rod, bait and technique.  The author is familiar with pan fishing in the northern states and you might want to consider this when choosing a book.
