Crappie fishing in Tunica, Mississippi

That being said about the lures...In my humble opinion, nothing beats live minnows for catching crappie. In a pinch, the lures work just fine, but I like live bait, and from my experience, it seems that's the crappie like them too!

If you want to try your hand at fishing Tunica Cutoff for crappie, just trap you some minnows from those very waters.  You will be more likely to keep them alive, and they will appeal to the sometimes finicky crappie because they will be the natural forage they would normally eat.

Still, there is something to be said about a bait that will not die, jump out of your hand, or get dropped and flop around in your boat.  Lures are ok, if you prefer them, the real test is what works best to help you catch more crappie!
