The very same school you were just fishing from could have moved
further ahead to another shelter and you can find them again and fish
from this school for a bit more. When you find a school of crappie,
your first step should be to find what depth they are holding. Crappie
will school in a particular depth and the best way to find this is to
start with your line at the bottom and then slowly pull up until you
find the right depth where the school is sitting.
To help you find and hold your depth, you can mark the line with a
magic marker and each time you recast you will know the exact spot
where you found a bite before. With these tips and ideas you can become
an expert at locating crappie.
