Different Types of Environment
 
The type of water will make a difference in the type of tube jig that you need to use because fishing in clear water is different from fishing in dark or murky waters. When you are fishing in clear water the tube jig is more visible to the crappie. Therefore, you want to use a small size. If you use a size that is too large it will appear unnatural to the crappie and it will scare the fish away.
 
When fishing in the dark and murky waters the larger jigs work the best. Since the jigs can't be seen as easily in dark waters you need something else to attract their attention. The larger jigs will create more vibrations that will draw the crappie to your bait and entice them to strike. The tubes jigs that are two to three inches in size are the best choices when fishing under these conditions.
 
If you are fishing in areas where there are lots of structures like heavy brush, sunken trees, stumps or other debris the tube jig will not get hung up as often as other lures. This makes fishing less stressful and lots more fun.
 
After taking everything into consideration, most anglers will agree that using tube jigs is the best way to fish for crappie. There are so many benefits to using this type of lure and very few reasons not to. The main thing is, they work very well and they are so easy to use.
