A Crappie Condo is an artificial brush piles used to attract Crappie to the area in which they are placed in. Crappie tends to flourish in areas in which the most cover is available. Crappie condos can be built out of several materials, and are often sunk in the water using concrete.
However, before building and sinking your own Crappie condos, you should check with your local parks and wildlife office, as some areas and states have outlawed them the devices.
Also, if you are thinking about building a crappie condo, you should have already decided where you want to place your condos. Because of the sheer size of each of the condos, it may be difficult to transport more then one to the spot at once.
When you get to the point in which you want to place your condo, ancor your boat. Be careful as the shifting weight (50 plus pounds) may cause your boat to rock. Move your bucket to the edge of the boat and drop it straight down into place. Do not worry about the bucket tipping or landing wrong, because once you drop it, it will drop similar to a parachute.
You should be able to catch fish from your bamboo Crappie condo
within just a few weeks of placing it.
