Favorite Crappie Tube Jigs

Can you give me a list of your favorite crappie tube jigs?

It really depends on several key factors which crappie jig you want to use. Crappie jigs really have done a lot to make it easy for anglers to catch crappie under practically any condition. You just have to take those conditions into consideration when you choose. Consider your location, water conditions, and what type of crappie you hope to catch. When black crappie are your target fish, remember that they are mostly a shallow water fish and need smaller bait than white crappie do. Remember they may be seasonal, and you might have to adjust your choices based on the time of the year as well. For black crappie, try a 1″ to 1.5″ tube bait in most cases. For the most part, Black crappie are in clear water, so they will not bite really large tubes. White crappie live in murkier waters and require a bait they can see in such waters. Consider a jig big enough to make some movement in the water. For muddy water, consider Superjig Tubes by Midsouth Tackle in about a 3″ size or a Southern Pro Crappie mag in about a 2″ size. Just never try these on blacks or in clear water. A couple of other good choices to get the crappie biting are about an eighth ounce Gamakatsu jig rigged with a small tube and a lip hooked minnow on behind it. Try a tube in chartreuse for best results if the waters are stained. Also give a Lit’l Hustler 1 1/64 inch and a 1 inch too, and see if that works for you.
