I am looking to commercially purchase a rig to mount to my boat that can hold 8-12 crappie rods, either in the spider rig configuration, or on the back of the boat. I have seen several rigs, but most seem to be built from scratch. Is there a retailer that sells a quality aluminum rig?
The art of spider rigging allows anglers to use multiple poles to fish for a wide variety of fish in most waters and conditions. The poles are set up along the front, back, and sides of the boat, giving it a spider-like appearance, thus the name: spider rigging. It further allows using a variety of baits at a variety of depths to help anglers determine what the fish are biting and at what depths they are holding. Spider rigging usually uses from 6 to 8 poles, but can help you fish as few as two poles simultaneously or as many as 16. If you are looking for an aluminum rig that can hold eight to twelve rods in a spider rigging set up, you might want to take a look at the following rigs available commercially: The Tite-Lok Black Widow Ultra Spider rigging Rod Holder system. This spider rigging system is heavy duty and can handle the heavier catches. It allows anglers to spread their rigs for trolling or even for pulling. This rig comes with a 1/2″ post and spider rig. The Tite-Lok Black Widow Spider Rigging System is made of an anodized aluminum alloy with stainless steel hardware. This rig can be used on any kind of boat. It mounts both vertically and horizontally. The angle rod holders are adjustable and rotate 360 degrees while they lock in a dozen variable positions. There is an optional rail mount that will allow it to be mounted to any standard square or round rail. But if you are looking for a smaller spider rigging system to purchase, please consider the Driftmaster Round T-Bar Rod Holder System. It’s a 24″ Trolling Bar that allows anglers to fish as many as 4 rods at the same time. This spider rigging system comes with 4 Li’l Pro rod holders, a star base that comes with stainless steel mounting screws, 1/2″ round locking stem, clamp bases and a lock sprocket that fit 7/8″ round rails.
