Furry Fish Baits

Category: Uncategorized

My friends are talking about Furry Fish Baits - will these work for Crappie fishing?

Understanding Furry Fish Baits is important here.  Furry Fish Baits are great for any type of fish, including crappie.  For those who do not know, these are a new line of soft plastic lures that have rabbit hair tails and trailers.  What is so unique is that, because of the way the natural fur breathes and pulsates in the water when you give it a little twitch from the rod, this is one of the most realistic-looking baits as far as fish are concerned.  The hide on the underside of the tail or tails will make a great scent pad, as well, adding more realism to the device.  The scent is going to soak into the hide, and it will last for hours, drawing some big, mean strikes from fish.

With crappie, you’ll want to take these baits out away from any cover a bit, preferably on the edge of a drop off or natural structure where they’ll be resting out of the current.  Just a slight twitch to catch their attention mixed with that heavy scent and you can be catching crappie all day long.  I wouldn’t use these for crappie in a river with really heavy current, since that will cause most of the scent to float away quickly, and the bait won’t swim quite right anyway.  It is also not the greatest bottom bouncer.  Floating it right in front of semi-active crappie is the way to go, simply giving the rod a twitch here and there to make it swim.
