How do I fish for minnows? What is the best way to keep them alive?

The best way to catch minnows is using a minnow trap or a seinign net. If you only want a few minnows at a time get yourself a minnow trap and set it in the river or a stream with the entrance to the trap facing into the current and let it set an hour or two before checking it. A seining net can be used by one or two people depending on the span of water you are trying to sein.

With two people unroll the net and with the poles on each side push into the water untill it hits the bottom and tilt the net so the bottom is slightly forward and walk into the current. Keep your minnows in a cooler or bucket using water from the river you were seining in and add an oxygen pellet or small pump for aeration.

Keep them out of the sun.
