Can you tell me how to use a slip bobber?
To use a slip bobber, take the end of your fishing line and slide it through the top ring of the slip bobber and allow it to slide down into the bobber, at this point you may have some problems with the line trying to fold up in side the bobber so it helps to twist the bobber back and forth a little. Once you get the line all the way through slide your weight up to the bottom of the bobber. Now you want to tie your swivel on with the hook and leader already attached.
Once that’s done you will need to decide how deep you want to fish, then place your bobber stop at that length. In other words if you want to fish 5 feet down, measure up 5 feet on your line and put the bobber stop there. This is easier to do if you can lay your pole on the ground with the line straight out and measure that way. You can use the store bought stops, which are little plastic tubes or even a rubber band or knot to keep your bobber from sliding down. If you want the measurements to be exact, you can use a tape measure to make sure it’s at 6 feet, or whatever depth you choose.
The most difficult part of this is getting the line through the slip bobber without it folding up, but after doing this a few times you’ll get the feel of what it takes to get the line through without any problems.
