I need some advice for crappie fishing on Chickamauga Lake, can you give me some?
The great thing about crappie fishing on Chickamauga Lake is that you can fish any time of the year. The schools of crappie generally follow the baitfish schools around the lake. If see schools of shad, the crappies are nearby. You can look for this around the deeper waters close to the bottom of the lake. You can easily fish around the flat that is by Creek Channel in about six to ten feet of water during March for some good catches. Use a slow troll with a tube jig about 1/16th ounce. The daily catch limit is fifteen and you can hit that target every day when the crappie are biting. Another lure to use on this lake is the albino assassin. They are catching crappies in big batches in as little as two hours with these little guys. The fish will bite hard to so you will know when you have a bite. You can drop the line down to the bottom, raise it up a bit, and troll while keeping it close to the bottom for some good catches. I would have to say that fishing on this lake seems pretty easy. All you need is an assassin lure and a good location for some fine crappie fishing. One angler was heard saying that if the parking lot is full of boat trailers, the crappie are biting hard in big numbers. It seems that word of mouth spreads very fast for this lake and once the word gets out, everyone shows up.
