The Jig Is Up…

where can i find the supplies for tying my own jigs.mostly o need flashing ,mylar, tinsle and twine

Materials and tools for making and tying jigs are available at many places. As a fly tyer myself, I know of many good suppliers. It’s hard to beat Cabelas for a wide range of materials. Their Fly Tying Catalog has just about everything a tyer would need, with a few rare expections. You’d be hard pressed to find a better supplier. And, their Customer Service is second to none. They are online at http://www.cabelas.com/. Another supplier I use a lot is Stone River Outfitters. They have a lot of the ‘harder-to-find’ stuff, as well as great deals on all the other materials. And they have a great Customer Service dept. as well. They are at http://www.stoneriveroutfitters.com/. But my all-time favorite supplier for jig supplies is the Punisher Lures company. They have the ultimate supplies for all kinds of jigs. Their Fish Fur is specifically designed for smallmouth bass jigs, and they have things that you can’t find anywhere else. They are THE jig specialists. They don’t do anything else. This would absolutely be my first stop online for jig supplies. They are at http://www.punisherlures.com/store.html. Another place to check is your local tackle stores. They sometimes carry jig making supplies. I have also gotten some materials at Hobby Lobby, and Wal-Mart. But be careful when selecting dyed products. Some of the craft furs have dye that will ‘leach’ out in the water and make a mess of your jigs, and tackle boxes. Make sure they are water-safe. Happy Fishing!
