what is the best for crappie
Since this is an open question, I will address bait, location and weather conditions. First off, you should know the area you are going to fish. This means having a map so that you can see where the underwater structures are located and where the weed beds lay. Then you want to see where the dead wood lays. These are prime locations for crappies. The weather pays some part in crappie fishing, but not as much as fishing for other species. Crappies seem to come swallow in the morning’s right before sunlight and tend to move deeper when the sun is bright. If the day is overcast, you will find the crappie in swallow waters. Bait is important for catching crappies. Use minnows or insects. Live bait works the best for morning crappies. If you are fishing afternoons, you can use color jigs or insects, which will vibrate the water and bring the crappie closer to the top of the water. Drifting and trolling works the best unless you are fishing from shore in an area where the crappies are close to the shoreline. I would find the baitfish and use a fish finder to see where the schools are so you have an idea where to start fishing. Some days, I just enjoy drifting, but then again, it is relaxing and I catch a fish every time. Just remember to talk with the locals as well because they are a wealth if information when it comes to where and when to fish local waters.
