Where are the best places to catch crappie in Wisconsin?

Lake Wisconsin is one place that you will find crappie fishing in season when you are ready. The lake has shallow waters with underwater stumps and weeds that are a good place to find the fish. You can fish in waters about two feet deep. Some anglers head deep, but if you want to catch crappie, stay shallow and you will out catch the others. Big Eau Pleine is another good place to fish. You can catch fish as large as fifteen inches in most places on the water. Look by the stumps underwater and wooded waters. Use a hot pink jig with some weigh to catch a crappie in this water. Lake DuBay and this reservoir are filled with crappie just waiting to take the bait. Many places in Wisconsin have a huge population of crappies. You can fish in bad weather or nice weather and still walk away with the night’s dinner. Up around Green Bay and over by Sheboygan, you will find some prime waters for crappie fishing. Ice fishing is also popular for crappies when the layers of ice are prime for walking on. Anglers in Wisconsin don’t put away the rod and reel for the winter, they get out on the ice and fish for crappies, walleye and perch. Some of the inland lakes have fishing all year long and you will have some good fishing. Ask any angler in Wisconsin if they fish crappies and they will tell you that they fish right out their back doors because many have cabins around the inland lakes that are prime spots for fishing.
