Where are the best spots on the water to find crappie to catch?

Crappie are fish that like to hide and if you can determine where they are lurking, you are sure to bring home a cooler full of them on your fishing trip.  There are several things you want to take into consideration when looking for the best spots on the water to find crappie.

First, start out by what time of the day you are fishing.  If you can, fish for crappie during the evening hours.  They like the dark.  Start out by using a small submersible light placed into the water.  This will attract fish for you to use as bait.  Then, use the live bait to help with catching crappie.

Next, look for those locations where crappie like to hide.  For example, if you are fishing where there are bridges or other pillars in the water, chances are good that crappie will be found around the bottom there.

Another solution is to look for crappie lurking in any shallow water.  They like to hide in the weeds and reeds at the shoreline.  You will find them hiding under wood in this shallow water too.

Even still, many things play a role in where to fish, for example what’s the water temperature?  They like cool water, too.  In the summer time, cooler water is often found in deeper water, which is why they are lurking here.  In the spring time, you will likely find crappie along the shore.  You will need to take into consideration all of these facts prior to heading out onto the water.
